Top 10 Stops // PGA Tour Latinoamérica

"Writing about these areas really makes me thankful to have travelled everywhere that I have, and grateful to the Latin American Tour for making it all possible.  It has opened my eyes to the rest of the world outside of the US and the bubble that we live in.  These were some of the best times of my life and I highly encourage Americans to let go of the stigma and stereotype. You don’t even need to bring your sticks, but if you do there are some awesome tracks and experiences to be had."
Under the Gun // The Pressure of Q-School

Under the Gun // The Pressure of Q-School

"I love the pressure of tournament golf, but Q-School pressure is different.  Your whole year boiled down to 4 rounds, where every swing you feel your career as a golfer hangs in the balance.  There's no prize money until finals.  A pat on the back, good job, but you better bring it next stage.  It doesn’t feel just.  But that’s golf, and perhaps Q-School is the best representation of what the game is.  Perfection is unattainable, only the lucky few succeed, and the division is unforgiving. Is Q-School for the player, not the game?  I don’t know.  I’m just happy to be writing this week and not playing."
What's In The Bag?

What's In The Bag?

"If you aren’t a coach, head pro, or tour player, it says a lot if you have a staff bag.  You’re trying to look cool, and make yourself feel like a player, when most-likely you’re a 5 handicap that’s about a 16 if you were being honest with your scores.  It’s a pretty ostentatious statement showing up with a staff bag, and if you don’t have the game to back it up. Not a great look."
For the player, not the game?

For the player, not the game?

"They say golf is a gentleman’s game, and pro golf is a gentleman’s system to identify the best.  Like many things nowadays, golf is adapting to the times.  LIV, to me, represents the flashy world of social media, participation trophies (and by trophies I mean insane amounts of money), and popularity contests.  None of these things are necessarily terrible... it just doesn’t feel real.  At this point, the tournaments are quasi-real."

The Art of the Fist Pump // Tiger Woods and the rest

“The fist pump is an art.  And only Tiger Woods has truly mastered it.  There are two general pillars to fist pumps. First of all, the situation must warrant it. There’s no faster way to announce that you are a clown, than dropping a massive fist pump on the 5th hole on Thursday.  Act like you’ve been there before.  Second of all, for a fist pump to be great, you gotta let loose (think Brandi Chastain).” - Evan Harmeing

My Golf Story // Evan Harmeling

"It's so much fun to be in contention in a golf tournament and feel the heat.  And then to respond by hitting not just good shots, but great shots under that pressure, it's incredibly satisfying.  The other key was having the life perspective of my daughter’s birth upcoming.  How could I feel nervous about hitting a golf shot.. I’d done this millions of times, it's not that hard, and it's really not that important."

"At LFG, we are feel players.  No trackman robots here.  We will look good, have fun, and not take things too seriously. That’s how I feel when I think about this slogan. For the player, not the game." - Evan Harmeling

The Evolution of Golf Headwear - The 80s and 90s

I have so many golf hats…my wife told me that for every hat I bring into the fort, I have to get rid of two. Fair.

Get To Know Live Forever Golf

"These guys are serious about what they are doing.  Their motto is 'For the Player, Not the Game' - they offer a great line of golf and casual wear that is comfortable and appropriate, but with a healthy dose of sarcasm.  Imagine a combination of surfers, Panic fans, 1989 MLB All Star Game, and domestic light beer drinkers that play golf. That's who we're talking about here.  Not a lot of white belts.  No iron covers." - JRS

Guys Golf Trip

"The obsessed golf man doesn’t always need a golf resort.  He may need a break from the plug and play golf trip where everyone sits around compares their fancy putter covers.  There’s a good argument for the golf trip that isn’t all about golf – it’s more about connecting with your guys who you haven’t seen in WAY too long."

Golf Crowds : The Sore Thumb

"By no means is this meant to sound like a Tom Watson manifesto (where he complains about everything – in long-form letter format).  Instead, this is encouragement to knock off the shouting.  It’s not an opportunity to get on SportsCenter, but it is scarlet letter that will forever haunt golf crowds."

The White Belt Tragedy

"The best dressed guys on tour don’t touch them.  Think about the guys who are the good dressers.  I mean the REALLY good dressers.  None of those guys wear white belts, and probably make fun of guys in the locker room who are wearing them."
